Ezra Marcus is a highly versatile attorney sought out by colleagues and clients alike for his judgment, creativity, and analytical insight. His practice focuses on representing individuals and companies in complex civil litigation, investigations, and criminal prosecutions. He also represents lawyers and law firms in legal malpractice cases, disciplinary proceedings, and ethical disputes.
In his civil litigation practice, Ezra has helped for-profit and non-profit entities facing civil RICO claims, individuals facing allegations of securities fraud, and hospitals challenging drastic reductions in Medicare reimbursements.
In his criminal defense practice, Ezra has represented clients at every stage of the process, from investigation, bail, and discovery, to trial, sentencing and appeal. He has defended individuals facing criminal charges under Treasury sanctions regulations, campaign finance laws, and the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). Ezra also advises entities seeking to comply with FARA’s requirements.
Before joining the firm, Ezra served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson, then of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and the Honorable Jennifer Walker Elrod of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. In 2022, he took a leave of absence to serve as an aide to then-Judge Jackson during her Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
While in law school, Ezra served as Executive Director of Harvard’s Prison Legal Assistance Project, an organization dedicated to representing Massachusetts prisoners in their parole and disciplinary hearings. He also participated in the Veterans Law Clinic, helping clients obtain both federal and state veterans’ benefits.
Before law school, Ezra worked as an undergraduate admissions officer at Yale University.
